The Games:
The game trail consists of 16 different posts.
The activities require luck, skill and knowledge.
Players can play for points (score sheet provided) or just for fun.
You can play as many games as you wish, in whichever sequence you choose.
The Players:
The game trail has been designed for young and old, big and small, for families, for groups.
The “Trailblazers”:
The game trail is a project of the Dorfgemeinschaft Engelberg and supported by the Kommission zur Attraktivierung des Dorfzentrums (=Commission for Town Center Beautification). Local shops, businesses and hotels have been responsible for creating and equipping the various activity posts along the trail, which winds through the heart of Engelberg.
Duration:
It takes approximately 2-2 1/5 hours if players complete the whole course of games.
Times:
Daily 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 pm (Last time for borrowing equipment: 4:00 p.m.)
Price:
If you liked it and would like to support this project with a donation, you are welcome to make a donation to the dice box when you return the equipment. The money will go entirely to the play course project. We use it for replacement and repairs to the game material, for the game storage boxes and locks, and expenses such as advertisements, homepage, insurance etc. We are grateful for every contribution.
Each group of players receives a carrying sack containing the equipment and materials needed for playing. (ex. maps, explanatory and descriptive materials, scoresheets, etc.) There is a returnable deposit of 50.—CHF or ID for this pack. The deposit will be returned when the bag is returned.
Equipment Pick-up/Return points:
Tourist Information, Hinterdorf 1 (in the Dorfstrasse), Hours: Daily 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon and 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Ask for the the instructions-folder in english, there are two of this available
Last but not least:
When players have finished the course, they should return the equipment and materials to the same location where they picked them up at the start. Their deposit will be refunded immediately upon this return.
The use of “Spiel Dich Durchs Dorf, Spielparcours Engelberg” (= this game trail) is at one’s own risk. Dorfgemeinschaft Engelberg, the Community of Engelberg and the sponsors/creators of the trail’s activities refuse liability of any sort.
Information Quiz Trail
What:
The quiz course “Guess your way through the village” was inspired by the great success of the “Play your way through the village” game course. We also wanted to offer something in winter that
would allow locals and visitors to discover our village in a fun way.
It is a tour through the village, where you are guided by clues and questions are answered along the way. You will also learn interesting historical details about the places you visit.
For whom:
The quiz trail is designed for anyone who wants to discover our village in a fun way.
By whom:
The trail is a project of the Engelberg village community.
The project is supported by the municipality of Engelberg and Engelberg Titlis Tourism
Duration:
The tour takes about 1 hour. However, it is advisable to stop off at a restaurant/café on the way or be tempted to go shopping by the shop windows.
Opening hours:
The tour can basically be done at any time.

You can download and print out the document with the directions and questions free of charge here at the bottom of the page (6 pages) or pick up a printed version at the Tourist Information
(Hinterdorf 1). You can also get a printout at many hotels.
